I am a historian, author and broadcaster with over 3 million followers on social media.
I am passionate about history! Through my publications, broadcasting work and social media platforms (@history_with_amy) I am committed to bringing history to life in an engaging and exciting way.
In January 2026, I was a Global Educator Award Finalist at the 1 Billion Followers Summit in Dubai. I was nominated for the High-Quality Content Creator of the Year at the inaugural TikTok Awards UK & Ireland 2024.
I am a regular expert contributor, having appeared in numerous documentaries including 'The Assassinations of Queen Victoria‘ (Channel 5, 2026), 'Secrets of the Royal Traditions' Channel 5, 2026), 'Mayhem! Secret Lives of the Georgian Kings’ (Sky History, 2025) and ‘Buckingham Palace with Alexander Armstrong’ (Channel 5, 2025).
I attained my PhD in architectural history from the University of Cambridge. My thesis explored the architectural patronage of women in eighteenth-century Britain. After completing my doctoral thesis, I worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Queens' College, Cambridge.
I have worked in a curatorial capacity at Holkham Hall, Goodwood House and Woburn Abbey. I have also worked as a research consultant for the National Trust at Stowe Landscape Gardens and for Historic Royal Palaces at Kensington Palace. I was recently a Senior Properties Historian for English Heritage.
I am a trustee of the Historic Houses Foundation. I served as the chair of the Young Georgians and as a trustee of the Georgian Group for many years.
My debut book Hidden Patrons: Woman & Architecture in Georgian Britain (Bloomsbury, 2023) was shortlisted for the Architectural History Book of the Year (2025). My second book The Country House Dining Room: A History of Georgian Feasting (Yale University Press) will be published in May 2026!
